Going out

Pakefield is a small village to the south of Lowestoft adjacent to the Suffolk Heritage Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty. It has a long history of fishing and the sea. Small boats are still found on the beach and if you are lucky and up and about early enough you may be able to buy fresh fish direct from the fishermen as they are landed.
A short walk along the cliff sees three good pubs serving real ales, delicious bar meals and a warm friendly welcome. There are two good restaurants, renowned for their local fish dishes. An Indian and Chinese takeaway, two fish and chip shops and numerous other food establishments all within easy walking distance. For those self catering there are three local supermarkets for supplies, home barbecues and entertaining.
Lowestoft, (the most Easterly point of the British Isles), is a renowned fishing port and seaside town with a glorious sandy beach stretching from the town harbour, along the seafront, to Pakefield and onwards to Southwold.
Dogs are allowed to access the beach, unlike many other seaside resorts, swim in the sea and have fun on the sand which they love.
